The fall enclosing a fitted interior of nine drawers and pigeonholes arranged around a central cupboard, with four drawers below, with original paktong handles and escutcheons to the drawers and large carrying handles to the sides.
Crossman illustrates a blocked desk of similar form in padouk or rosewood and with paktong hardware in the frontispiece of The Decorative Arts of The China Trade (Antique Collectors' Club, 1991).
