England, circa 1740.
A very fine pair of mid 18th century mahogany hall chairs. Of good weight and particularly fine colour throughout, with superb figuring to the mahogany. In traditional sgabello form, with a strong bold silhouette outline, shaped back and conforming seat with dished roundel, the legs supports shaped and joined by a stretcher.
