Welsh nose-band horse brass.
A Victorian hinged ‘nose-band’ horse brass, engraved ‘Evans Maker Talley’.
Thomas Evans of Talley in Carmarthenshire is recorded as a Saddler and Harness maker in the 1875 Worrall’s trade directory of South Wales.
The hinged noseband was fixed to a piece of leather which went over the horses nose. They were often engraved with the saddle makers name and town or village.
