A late 19th century cork and painted diorama of the South Bay of Scarborough, set within a giltwood frame. circa 1875.

The diorama includes the beach, the harbour, Scarborough castle, Prospect tower, the Spa, the Grand Hotel, the Rotunda, and other prominent buildings and promenade, with people in the foreground, and on the beach, with bathing machines, and ships at sea.

Scarborough is a seaside town located on the North Sea coastline in the county of North Yorkshire, England. The South Bay was the site of the original medieval settlement and harbour which formed the Victorian old town depicted in the diorama.
