Chinese famille rose charger, Qianlong (1736-95), decorated to the centre with a reserve panel with scrolling ruyi-head borders containing a ribbon-tied bouquet of peony and chrysanthemum, the cavetto and rim with a pink diaper ground and four stylised pomegranate-shaped cartouches containing further blossoming peony, the reverse with four florets in iron red.
